Quetta, Pakistan (HRNW)- A local court has sentenced Bashir Ahmed to a total of 37 years in prison and imposed a fine of PKR 300,000 in connection with the murder of a young man in Junijo Town in August 2024, which stemmed from a business dispute.
According to court orders, the fine amount will be paid as compensation to the victim’s family. The convict was found guilty under charges of murder, attempted murder, and related offences.
The prosecution reported that during the incident, the victim’s younger brother, Noorullah, was killed in the attack, while the accused and his accomplices used firearms and sticks during the assault.
The court accepted the eyewitness testimonies as credible evidence, confirming Bashir Ahmed’s involvement in the crime. He was arrested from Quetta, while the remaining suspects remain at large and have been declared proclaimed offenders.
The case was registered at the Baloch Colony Police Station, and authorities confirmed that operations to arrest the absconding suspects are still ongoing.
