According to media reports, individuals and institutions that provide accommodation or employ illegal people living in the Emirates can be fined up to 5 million dirhams (approximately Rs. 380 million). According to officials, such people can also be sentenced to imprisonment.

Emirati authorities have made it clear that working on a visit visa is a punishable crime, while strict action will also be taken against those involved in aiding or facilitating such people.

According to the report, the Emirates has taken these measures to make the crackdown on illegal residence, smugglers and illegal labor networks effective, and no concessions will be given if violations are proven.
