ISLAMABAD (HRNW): The Supreme Court of Pakistan has returned a petition seeking the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan to a hospital, citing several administrative objections. During the proceedings, senior lawyers Sardar Latif Khosa and Naeem Panjutha appeared before Chief Justice Yahya Khan Afridi to request an urgent hearing, but the Chief Justice clarified that the application had already been returned the previous day. He informed the legal team that there is currently no valid application pending before the court for immediate action, as previous health-related matters were resolved following government assurances rather than a formal court order. When Latif Khosa argued that the request for hospital transfer was based on humanitarian grounds, the Chief Justice maintained that the medical check-ups already provided were conducted on those very grounds. Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan also remarked that he understood the context of the senior lawyer’s arguments, given their long professional history. Ultimately, Chief Justice Yahya Khan Afridi advised the legal team to follow standard Supreme Court procedures by meeting with the Registrar to address the objections, noting that they could only return to the courtroom if the Registrar’s office failed to provide the necessary documentation.
