Karachi (HRNW)– In a significant step toward modernizing prison security, a meeting was held to discuss the installation of a state-of-the-art DMR Tier-II wireless communication system in Sindh’s jails. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Jail, Works & Services, Sindh, at the Inspectorate General Sindh Prisons, Karachi.

The project has been assigned to the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and will enter the implementation phase following cabinet approval. The initiative represents an important advancement in strengthening prison security through modern technology.
The new wireless communication system will integrate all prisons across the province, regional offices, and the central command and control center into a unified network. The advanced DMR system is designed to enhance prisoner monitoring, enable rapid response during emergencies, and improve inter-prison coordination.
The Government of Sindh continues to take practical steps to modernize and upgrade the provincial prison system, ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational readiness across all facilities.
