KARACHI (HRNW): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has achieved a massive breakthrough by recovering 350 acres of high-value land in the city’s most expensive coastal areas. The reclaimed land, estimated to be worth a staggering PKR 423.5 billion, is located in Clifton Blocks 1 and 2 and consists of prime territory reclaimed from the sea.
According to NAB officials, the recovery was made during an ongoing investigation into officers of the Land Utilization Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and Karachi Development Authority (KDA). The probe revealed that this extremely valuable state property had been illegally allotted at throwaway prices in violation of established regulations.
By intervening, NAB has successfully prevented a historic loss to the national exchequer. The recovered 350 acres have been formally handed back to the Government of Sindh. This action is part of a wider crackdown on land grabbing and administrative corruption involving state-owned real estate in Karachi.
