KP Chief Minister’s Aide Vows ‘Freedom or Martyrdom’ in Defiant Political Address

Kohat (HRNW)Addressing a large public gathering in Kohat, Sohail Afridi, an aide to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivered a defiant speech, declaring that the movement would advance “from D-Chowk toward freedom, or return wrapped in shrouds.”

Afridi strongly criticized political opponents, stating that those who lecture others on governance are the very forces that plunged the country into massive debt. He asserted that the public must unite to reclaim what he termed “true freedom” from entrenched elites.

The speech reflected rising political polarization and growing public frustration over economic hardship, governance failures, and democratic rights. Observers warn that such rhetoric underscores deepening tensions and highlights concerns related to political expression, public protest rights, and state accountability in Pakistan.
