Karachi Pakistan Rangers Arrest Extortion Suspect Linked to Lyari Gang

Karachi (HRNW) Acting on confidential information, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) conducted an operation in New Karachi and arrested Amir Hamza, son of Hamid Hussain, a suspect affiliated with the Samad Kathiawari gang involved in extortion. A mobile phone was recovered from the suspect’s possession.

According to Rangers, the suspect has been associated with Lyari gang commander Abdul Samad’s frontman, Yousuf alias Mota, since 2019. Amir Hamza revealed that in July 2024, he accompanied Yousuf Mota to demand extortion from a builder. During this incident, Yousuf was provided a pistol by a local youth from Old Lyari and remained in constant contact via WhatsApp with the central commander Abdul Samad.

At the construction site in Kharadar, Yousuf Mota handed a note demanding extortion to a laborer and instructed him to deliver it. Amir Hamza then fired a shot that hit the laborer’s leg.
