Italy Opens Doors for Pakistani Skilled Workers with 10,500 New Visas

ROME / ISLAMABAD (HRNW): In a major boost to bilateral labor relations, Italy has officially announced a dedicated quota of 10,500 work visas for Pakistani skilled professionals. This landmark decision was finalized following high-level discussions between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, in Rome. The initiative aims to streamline the exchange of manpower between the two nations, providing legal avenues for Pakistani experts in sectors such as agriculture, construction, and healthcare to contribute to the Italian economy.

Beyond the labor quota, the two countries reached a significant diplomatic milestone by granting visa-exempt status to holders of Pakistani diplomatic passports, a move designed to facilitate seamless official travel and strengthen administrative ties. During the meeting, the Italian Interior Minister lauded Pakistan’s robust efforts in curbing illegal migration and human trafficking, describing the country’s recent border management strategies as a model for regional security. This agreement marks a new chapter in Pakistan-Italy relations, prioritizing merit-based migration while ensuring the security and dignity of the workforce.
