Former US Air Force Pilot Arrested in Indiana for Allegedly Training Chinese Military Personnel

Washington/ Indiana (HRNW)- The United States Department of Justice has announced the arrest of former US Air Force pilot Gerald Brown on charges of providing unauthorized combat training to Chinese military personnel.

Brown, 65, was detained in the state of Indiana after recently returning to the United States from China, where authorities say he had been residing since December 2023.

According to the Department of Justice, Brown is accused of conspiring to train Chinese Air Force pilots without obtaining the required authorization or export license from the US State Department.

Kash Patel, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), described the arrest as a significant development, stating on social media that the United States will continue to act against individuals who undermine national security.

Brown served in the US Air Force for 24 years, commanding sensitive units, and later worked as a defense contractor after retirement.

Officials allege that China has sought to leverage the expertise of former US military personnel to enhance and modernize its military capabilities. Authorities confirmed that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
