Lahore (HRNW)-On the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz the District Administration Lahore has intensified its crackdown across the city against overchargers and elements creating artificial inflation, resulting in strict legal and administrative actions at various locations. According to details, Assistant Commissioner Raiwind, Dr. Abid Mumtaz Sial, conducted detailed visits to various super marts in Tehsil Raiwind and reviewed the prices and quality of essential commodities under the price control campaign. During the inspection, taking strict action upon proof of overcharging and violation of official rates at DC counters, a well-known super mart was sealed on the spot, while heavy fines totaling 110,000 rupees were also imposed. DC Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz made it clear that no leniency will be shown to elements charging excessive prices, and all super marts have been bound by the District Administration Lahore to display official rate lists at prominent places. He further directed that the purpose of DC counters is to provide direct relief to the public; therefore, stability in the quality and prices of items there must be ensured at all costs. The District Administration Lahore reaffirmed its commitment that action against overchargers will continue with iron hands, and no compromise will be made on poor quality or charging above the fixed rates.
