China Urges Restraint as US Military Buildup Against Iran Sparks Global Concern

Beijing (HRNW)- Rising tensions following U.S. threats of war and a large-scale military buildup in the region against Iran have triggered widespread international concern.

According to international news agencies, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China stated that China is closely monitoring the evolving situation in Iran. The spokesperson emphasized that China fully supports the Iranian government and people in safeguarding their legitimate rights, national interests, and stability.

China reiterated that it consistently advocates resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means and firmly opposes threats or the use of force in international affairs. The spokesperson called on all parties to exercise restraint and settle differences through dialogue, adding that China is ready to play a constructive role as a responsible global power.

Reports indicate that the United States has deployed one of the world’s largest naval fleets to the region to increase pressure on Iran regarding nuclear negotiations. Aircraft from a U.S. air base in Portugal have reportedly repositioned closer to the region, while another fleet remains stationed in the Pacific.

Donald Trump previously stated that if Iran does not demonstrate willingness to engage in nuclear talks within 10 to 15 days, a major military strike could be launched.

Meanwhile, Israel has reportedly warned Lebanon against allowing Hezbollah to join any potential conflict in support of Iran, cautioning that serious consequences could follow.
