arachi: Transport Mafia Strikes Again — Man Severely Injured in Landhi, Family Seeks Justice

Karachi (HRNW) — In Landhi No. 6, a reckless act by transport mafia has left a family struggling for justice. 35-year-old Mohammad Salman, son of Mohammad Islam, resident of House No. 8, Block 29, Area 4D, near Mehak Clinic, was waiting for his ride to work when a truck loaded with chickens hit him. Luckily, his life was spared, but his leg was severely crushed.

The driver fled the scene immediately, forcing the affected family to track down the truck themselves. Since the incident, the driver remains absconding, and the truck’s registered owner reportedly threatened the family. The chickens were removed from the truck and taken by the owner even after the case was filed at the police station.

The family has spent over PKR 800,000 on medical treatment, funded through loans from relatives and acquaintances.

Unfortunately, despite the case being registered at Landhi Police Station, the police have yet to take meaningful action to apprehend the driver or truck owner.

The victim’s family, including 3-year-old Abdul Wali, 1.5-year-old Nabiha Fatima, and their sister Rukhsar, now look to senior police officials for justice and intervention.
