Afghan National Arrested in the US for Planning ISIS-K Attacks

Washington (HRNW)- An Afghan national, John Shah Safi, has been arrested for planning attacks in the United States.

US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Christine Lam said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Afghan national John Shah Safi, a member of ISIS-K.

The Afghan national, who entered the United States under former President Joe Biden’s “Welcome Allies” program, was found to have supported the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS-K), and also provided weapons to his father, who is a commander of a militia group in Afghanistan.
