Imran Khan’s Sons Qasim and Suleman Announce Planned Visit to Pakistan to Meet Their Father

Islamabad/London (HRNW)- Qasim Khan and Suleman Khan, sons of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, have announced their visit to Pakistan to meet their father. According to Qasim Khan, both the brothers have applied for Pakistani visas and the process is expected to be completed, after which they are planning to visit Pakistan in January.

Qasim Khan said this in an interview given to British broadcaster Sky News. He said that since government figures have said that they can come to Pakistan and meet Imran Khan, they are now practically preparing for their visit.

Qasim Khan’s statement has come at a time when Imran Khan’s sisters were once again not allowed to meet him in Adiala Jail. PTI has alleged that water mixed with chemicals was also used through a water cannon on this occasion, over which Imran Khan’s family and party leadership have expressed concern.

In an interview with Sky News, Qasim Khan was also asked whether he would discuss any possible “deal” during his meeting with Imran Khan. To this, Qasim Khan made it clear that Imran Khan’s life’s purpose is to rid Pakistan of corruption and that he does not believe in any kind of compromise or deal. He said that if Imran Khan makes a deal and goes abroad, it will cause him severe mental anguish.

Qasim Khan said that he wants his father to be free and spend time with him, but Imran Khan’s purpose is much bigger than personal desires, which should be respected. He added that he wants to know from his father how he can help him get released, because at that time he is feeling helpless.

He also said that he has not been able to talk to Imran Khan since the death of his grandmother and he wants to come to Pakistan and talk to his father about this too, because Imran Khan considered his grandmother as a mother after the death of his mother.

Talking about the future, Qasim Khan expressed his fear that the situation was getting worse and the people in power were getting stronger, which made the hope of a solution seem slim. He said that he feared that he might not see his father again.

On this occasion, Suleman Khan also said that Imran Khan was not convinced by any kind of deal or compromise, and he believed that in such circumstances, international pressure could be an effective means of change.
