SBCA Releases List of 715 Dangerous Buildings Across Sindh

Karachi – Pakistan (HRNW)The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has released a comprehensive list of 715 buildings across the province that have been declared uninhabitable and unsafe by its Technical Committee on Hazardous Structures.

Under the special directives of Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, a phased evacuation and demolition campaign is underway to vacate residents from these dangerous buildings. Several dilapidated structures in Karachi have already been demolished, while operations continue on others.

The breakdown of hazardous buildings by city includes:

  • Karachi: 563
  • Hyderabad: 81
  • Sukkur: 60
  • Mirpurkhas: 7
  • Larkana: 4

Within Karachi, the district-wise distribution is:

  • South: 422
  • Central: 72
  • Kemari: 28
  • Korangi: 18
  • East: 16
  • Malir: 5

In the second phase of the campaign, warning banners will be displayed on dangerous buildings, and announcements will be made via loudspeakers to alert residents. The initiative aims to raise public awareness and warn occupants about structural hazards.
