Peshawar – Pakistan (HRNW)– The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has amended the Judicial Rules 2001, removing the two-year experience requirement for the appointment of civil judges. The move comes as part of administrative changes affecting the province’s civil judiciary.

According to the official notification, the seniority-based promotion system for civil judges has also been abolished. However, candidates for PBS 19 to 21 posts will still need to complete mandatory training and pass the required examinations.
The decision marks a significant shift in judicial recruitment policy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to broaden eligibility for civil judge positions while maintaining basic competency through structured training and assessments.
