Niamey (HRNW): In a tragic incident in the Sahara Desert of Niger, 50 individuals lost their lives due to extreme dehydration and severe thirst after their transport vehicle broke down.
Tragic Breakdown in Scorching Heat
The victims were reportedly traveling back to their home regions from Mali following the Eid al-Adha holidays when their truck suffered a mechanical failure in the middle of the Sahara Desert.
According to reports, as temperatures soared and water supplies completely ran out, the situation became critical, causing the stranded passengers to lose their lives one by one due to the intense heat and acute water shortage.
Miraculous Survival of Two Passengers
According to news agencies, two individuals miraculously survived the ordeal. The duo managed to cross the harsh desert terrain on foot, eventually reaching a nearby populated area to alert authorities and seek emergency assistance.
