Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon Indicted in Assets Beyond Means Case

Karachi – Pakistan (HRNW)- An Anti-Corruption Court in Karachi has formally indicted Sindh’s Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, along with his mother, wife, and several others, in a case involving assets allegedly exceeding known sources of income.

According to court proceedings, Sharjeel Memon and other accused appeared before the judge and pleaded not guilty to the charges. The indictment relates to accusations of accumulating wealth worth over Rs. 2.27 billion, allegedly through illegal means and transferring funds abroad via hundi and hawala networks.

The court has also issued notices to seven prosecution witnesses to appear in the next hearing. The case marks a significant development in the province’s ongoing anti-corruption drive, as authorities continue to scrutinize high-profile figures for alleged financial misconduct.
