Islamabad – Pakistan (HRNW)- The World Bank has approved $700 million in financing for Pakistan under the Public Resources for Inclusive Development Program. The funding aims to strengthen public resource management and support ongoing development initiatives across the country.
According to the World Bank, the financial assistance is conditional on Pakistan achieving specific reform targets, requiring the government to implement key policy measures to ensure effective use of funds. Of the total, $600 million is allocated to the federal government, while $100 million is earmarked for the Sindh provincial government.
The funding is considered a critical step toward improving governance, enhancing public service delivery, and promoting inclusive development throughout Pakistan. Experts believe this assistance could significantly enhance the impact of national development programs if accompanied by rigorous oversight and transparency.
