Karachi – Pakistan (HRNW)- In a major development, Karachi police have launched a grand operation against individuals tampering with or concealing vehicle number plates to avoid e-challan fines. The crackdown was initiated under the directives of IG Sindh and Additional IG Karachi and is being conducted by the District East Police.
According to details, checkpoints have been established across multiple locations, with each operational phase lasting about three hours per area. SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh confirmed that so far, two vehicles have been seized and challans issued to 23 others for violations.
The SSP further stated that anyone found using fancy number plates, concealing registration numbers, or tampering with official vehicle identifiers will face strict legal action. The operation aims to enforce traffic discipline and ensure accountability on city roads.
