Islamabad (HRNW) – The ongoing legal proceedings concerning Justice Tariq Jahangiri’s LLB degree have taken a new turn as the High Court’s order has been challenged before the Constitutional Court.
In the appeal, it is argued that investigation into the authenticity of the LLB degree can only be conducted by the trial court, which has the authority to record evidence and examine the relevant documents. The appeal emphasizes that higher courts or constitutional benches cannot independently investigate the matter without relying on trial court records.

Justice Jahangiri’s legal team has further requested that the petition filed against him be dismissed, stressing that the allegations lack sufficient legal foundation and that the matter should follow due judicial process as per the established legal framework.
The appeal seeks that the Constitutional Court review and set aside the High Court’s order, ensuring that the trial court retains exclusive jurisdiction to investigate and determine the authenticity of the degree.
The case has garnered significant public attention, highlighting ongoing debates over judicial accountability, procedural propriety, and the verification of qualifications of sitting judges.
