FIA Cracks Down on Human Smuggling and Visa Fraud Eight Arrested

Gujranwala (HRNW)The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has intensified its crackdown on human smuggling and visa fraud, arresting eight suspects involved in luring citizens with false promises of overseas employment.

The arrested individuals include Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Imran Chattha, Umar Farooq, Luqman Amjad, Tariq Ali, Amir Sohail, and Muhammad Afzal Mawia, apprehended across Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal, and Sialkot.

Investigations revealed the following:

  • Muhammad Afzal duped a citizen by promising work in Malawi, collecting PKR 635,000.
  • Muhammad Amjad scammed a naive citizen with a promise to send him to Malaysia, extorting PKR 800,000.
  • Muhammad Imran Chattha falsely promised placement in Poland, taking PKR 1.7 million.
  • Umar Farooq and Luqman Amjad misled a citizen about travel to Germany, acquiring PKR 1.8 million.
  • Tariq Ali promised employment in Spain, obtaining PKR 3.6 million.
  • Amir Sohail collected PKR 2.05 million by promising work in Saudi Arabia.
  • Muhammad Afzal Mawia scammed a complainant under the pretense of sending him to Poland, collecting PKR 700,000.

All suspects failed to deliver the promised overseas opportunities and had initially absconded with large sums of money. Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to trace accomplices and dismantle the human smuggling network.
