D.G. Khan Man Declared Guilty After Tribal Ritual with Hot Iron Ordered to Leave Area

Dera Ghazi Khan (HRNW): In a shocking incident from the tribal area of Phugla, a local jirga used an ancient tribal ritual to determine guilt in a solar panel theft case and subsequently ordered the accused man to be expelled from the area.

According to sources, the jirga was convened under the local custom known as “Aas”, in which it was decided that if the accused was innocent, his hand would not burn when touched with hot iron. However, when the man’s hand was scorched, jirga members declared him guilty and issued an order for his expulsion.

Political Assistant Amir Taimoor confirmed that a case has been registered against the jirga members for conducting this illegal act, though no arrests have yet been made.

He further stated that after being accused of stealing solar panels, the jirga instructed the man to prove his innocence through the “Aas” ritual, during which burning coals and hot iron were placed on his hand. When his hand burned, he was declared guilty and banished from the area.
