Oxford (HRNW)– A Palestinian student at Oxford University, Arwa Haneen Al-Rayes, has won the race.
Arwa has won the first Arab woman to be elected president of the Oxford University Union in the 2026 elections. Arwa Haneen Al-Rayes is a student of politics, economics and psychology.
Arwa said in a message after her victory that she was grateful to the students for their trust. It should be noted that the Oxford Union is one of the most prestigious student organizations in the world, and it has elected a Palestinian woman as president for the first time in history.
