The Thai army crossed into Myanmar to rescue the 38 Pakistani citizens and transferred them to the Bangkok Immigration Center, from where they will be gradually deported back to Pakistan. Thai authorities have officially notified the Pakistani government about the operation.

Additionally, around 60 more Pakistanis are reportedly in a shelter house in Myanmar after escaping from different fraud centers.

Authorities have urged Pakistan to conduct detailed investigations of the deported individuals and take strict action against agents involved in human smuggling. Thai officials have also recommended placing the returning Pakistanis on the Exit Control List (ECL) for five years.

The FIA has warned that Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia have become major hubs for online fraud, where groups lure young people with fake job offers and work visas, forcing them into illegal work abroad.

The FIA has advised the public to avoid falling prey to fraudulent advertisements or fake visa schemes.
