BREAKING: Lahore DSP Confesses to Murdering His Wife and Daughter

Lahore, Pakistan (HRNW) — In a shocking development, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Usman Haider Gujjar has confessed to killing his wife and daughter, Lahore police confirmed on Sunday after a months‑long investigation.

The case began when the DSP’s wife and daughter disappeared from the Burki area of Lahore approximately six weeks ago, prompting him to file an FIR at Burki Police Station alleging their kidnapping.

However, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed due to the sensitive nature of the case uncovered inconsistencies in the abduction claim. During questioning, DSP Usman Haider admitted to shooting both his wife and daughter to death, police said.

Authorities recovered the daughter’s body from Kahna and the wife’s body from Sheikhupura, and both have been sent for post‑mortem examinations.

Police sources indicate that domestic discord intensified after the DSP’s second marriage, leading to long-running marital disputes and ultimately this tragic outcome.

Following the confession, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab ordered the immediate suspension of DSP Usman Haider, who was serving in the Kahna Police Investigation Wing.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and that a strong challan will be prepared to ensure the accused is held accountable under the law.
