Gaza (HRNW) — Amnesty International Secretary-General Agnes Callamard has expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation in Gaza, stating that the international community has stepped back from holding Israel accountable and is not paying sufficient attention to Gaza.

In an interview with Al Arabi TV on Saturday, Callamard declared that genocide is ongoing in the region. She emphasized that child malnutrition in Gaza remains alarmingly high and humanitarian conditions are dire.
The Secretary-General further urged that new cases be filed against the Israeli government in the International Criminal Court to ensure justice for potential crimes committed in Gaza.
These statements come amid reports that two civilians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, bringing the total number of deaths across different areas to five as of Saturday morning.
