Islamabad (HRNW)- Finland has announced the closure of its embassy in Pakistan citing operational and strategic reasons.
A statement from Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that embassies in Islamabad, Kabul, and Yangon will be shut down in 2026. The decision is attributed to limited trade and economic relations with these countries, as well as changes in their political situations.
Finland had previously suspended its diplomatic activities in Pakistan in 2012 due to budget cuts. The diplomatic mission in Pakistan was reopened in 2022 before this latest closure announcement.
