Kabul (HRNW)- Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Afghan Taliban government, has alleged that American drones are entering Afghanistan using Pakistani airspace.
In an interview with the Afghan news agency Tolo News, the Taliban spokesman called this act a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that just as Pakistan demands that Afghan soil not be used against it, similarly, we have also asked Pakistan in the talks held in Istanbul not to allow its land and airspace to be used against Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesman said, “It is true that American drones are entering the airspace of Afghanistan and these drones come through Pakistani airspace. This is unacceptable.”
Without naming any country, he said that some elements who were opposed to Afghanistan in the past or wanted to occupy Bagram are now trying to create instability in the region.
The Taliban spokesman said that these forces do not come out directly but rather provoke and exert pressure through others. We stand firm against any conspiracy and will not allow any wrong intentions to succeed in the region.
In response to a question regarding the Istanbul talks, he said that Pakistan’s position in the Doha and Istanbul meetings was to control the TTP, which is operating in Pakistan.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the Baloch Taliban delegation assured the Pakistani delegation that Afghan soil will not be used against any country and Pakistan will have to look into its own internal affairs.
It should be noted that today, DG ISPR said in a press conference on the question regarding drone attacks in Afghanistan that we have no such agreement with the US.
He completely rejected the allegation of US drones entering Afghan airspace from Pakistan and said that the Taliban regime itself has not made any formal complaint regarding the drones so far.
