Pakistan Lags Behind as UAE and Singapore Lead Global AI Adoption: Microsoft Report

Islamabad (HRNW)- The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore and Norway have taken a significant lead in the global adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), while Pakistan has lagged behind, with less than 15 percent of the population using AI tools.

These figures have been revealed in a new report by Microsoft’s AI Economy Institute, “AI Diffusion Report 2025”. According to the report, more than 50 percent of people in the UAE and Singapore are using AI technology in their daily tasks, making these countries the top countries in the global rankings.

The report said that the main reasons for the slow adoption of AI in Pakistan are limited internet availability, lack of digital skills, and the absence of AI tools in local languages.

Experts say that in countries where people can use AI in their native language such as English or Arabic, the acceptance of this technology is increasing rapidly.

According to the report, the United Arab Emirates is at the forefront of Muslim countries, while Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Qatar and Indonesia are also investing in AI education, data centers and government programs.

It was further reported that Israel is also among the seven countries that have developed advanced AI models, while the United States, China, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom and Canada are ahead of it on this list.

The report recommended that steps be taken to reduce the growing gap in AI between developed and developing countries so that all nations can equally benefit from the benefits of this modern technology.
