Kotri (HRNW)– The Special Education & Rehabilitation Center Kotri organized a colourful ceremony to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, under the theme “Fostering Disability -Inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Principal/Director Special Education & Rehabilitation Centre Hyderabad@ Kotri Khalid Suleman Khaskheli, MS DHQ Hospital Kotri, Dr. Barkat Ali Laghari, Vice Principal, Talib Hussain, Social Case Work Officer, Muhammad Noaman Panhwar, Deputy Director Atif Siddiqui, Staff Officer Irfan Ali Channa, Rajab Ali Shoro, representatives of Al-Khidmat Foundation, teachers, special children, and other respected guests.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Addressing the audience, Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfhar Ali Qadri said that observing this international day aims to promote awareness about the rights, education, health, and well-being of special persons. He emphasized that recognizing them as confident, capable, and active members of society and providing them equal opportunities is the need of the hour.
Other speakers highlighted that compassion, respect, and tolerance are essential values for building a harmonious society. They added that by providing special children with training, confidence, and support, a brighter future can be ensured for them.

During the event, special children presented captivating cultural performances, Sindhi folk songs, and various artistic displays under the supervision of their teachers. A special tableau based on the character of “Alan Faqeer” remained the highlight of the ceremony and was greatly appreciated by the audience.
In the concluding session, the District Administration Jamshoro distributed prizes and shields among the special children. Participants lauded the efforts of the Special Education School Kotri and paid tribute to the dedicated educational and rehabilitation staff.
