Major Jirga Held in North Waziristan to Resolve 40-Year Land Dispute

North Waziristan (HRNW)– A significant jirga was held in Tehsil Dosali under the leadership of the local wing commander, attended by elders of the Zarnai and Madi Khel tribes. The meeting aimed to move forward in resolving a 40-year-old land dispute in the Kamsham Plains, which has so far claimed 17 lives.

Thanks to continuous efforts and effective coordination by the security forces, both parties showed flexibility for the first time and agreed that the demarcation of the disputed area would be carried out by a neutral third party — the Wazir Khel tribe.

The two tribes have requested two weeks for consultation and preparation before the next jirga is held. Security forces and local administration have hailed this as a major achievement and an important step toward a lasting and peaceful resolution of the longstanding conflict.
