Fire in Landing Gear Forces Emergency Evacuation of Boeing 737; No Injuries Reported

Denver (HRNW)- Passengers had to be evacuated due to a fire in the landing gear of a plane in the US city of Denver, the video of which is going viral on social media. According to aviation officials, passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane through a slide due to a possible malfunction in the landing gear of the Boeing 737 and smoke rising.

Aviation officials said that as soon as the fire was reported, the fire department staff immediately reached the spot and took timely action to extinguish the fire. Aviation officials further said that the accident occurred before the plane took off. There were 173 passengers and crew members on board the flight. No casualties were reported in the incident.

A video of the plane’s landing gear catching fire is also going viral on social media, in which the fire and smoke rising in the plane can be seen. In addition, passengers can also be seen exiting the plane through the emergency exit in the video.

In this regard, American Airlines has issued a statement confirming that the plane had a tire failure and that all passengers and crew were safely disembarked.
