Gaza (HRNW)- Israel has announced a 10-hour daily ceasefire in three areas of Gaza, instead of a permanent ceasefire.
The statement from the army came at a time when the Israeli government said it was taking steps to alleviate the food crisis in Gaza. The Israeli army said in its latest statement that the 10-hour daily ceasefire in the three areas where military attacks will be halted includes Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City. The pause in operations will be from 10 am to 8 pm, while it will apply to designated safe routes from 6 am to 11 pm.
Aid trucks left Egypt for Gaza today after months of international pressure and warnings from aid agencies of a food shortage in the Palestinians.
Israel says it began a series of aid flights to Gaza on Saturday and is taking several other steps to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Israeli military said a humanitarian corridor would be established to allow the safe passage of UN aid convoys to Gaza and that there would be a pause in humanitarian military operations in densely populated areas.
International aid organizations say that some 2.2 million people in Gaza have been suffering from hunger and thirst since Israel cut off supplies in March 2025. Israel says it has sent enough food to Gaza and accuses the UN of failing to distribute it.
