Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has once again strongly criticized New York City’s Muslim mayoral candidate Zahran Mamdani, calling him “terrible” and a “communist.”
Trump said at a campaign rally: “If the people of New York go to Zahran Mamdani, they’re crazy.”
He further sarcastically said that he wants to see that if Mamdani wins, he “has to come to the White House” to get funds.
Trump also hinted that if Zahran becomes mayor, federal funding to New York City could be cut off.
It should be remembered that the mayoral elections in New York will be held in November 2025 this year. Zahran Mamdani won by a huge margin in the Democratic primary held a few days ago, and he seems close to becoming the first Muslim mayor of New York.
Zahran Mamdani, taking an anti-Israel stance, had said that if the Israeli prime minister came to New York during his term as mayor, he would order his arrest.
