Lahore (HRNW)- Good news for the people suffering from inflation. OGRA has issued a notification for the reduction in the price of LPG for the month of July 2025. OGRA has reduced the price of LPG domestic cylinder by Rs 88 and commercial cylinder by Rs 337. The official production price has been reduced by Rs 6299 per metric ton. Now LPG will be available for Rs 233 per kg instead of Rs 241 per kg, domestic cylinder will be available for Rs 2751 instead of Rs 2838, and commercial cylinder will be available for Rs 10583 instead of Rs 10920.
Irfan Khokhar, Chairman LPG Industries Association Pakistan, said in a statement that action against poor LPG shopkeepers should be stopped. Shopkeepers do not make LPG at home. The government should ensure the official price from Port Qasim (terminal) and the plant. The government should take action against powerful people instead of shopkeepers. The LPG margin set by OGRA in 2018 has become extremely inadequate and unworkable in the context of the current situation. These margins should be increased at least twice. Irfan Khokhar further said that the natural gas crisis has intensified across the country. LPG is the only cheap fuel that has the capacity to meet the shortage of natural gas. 60% of the local requirement is dependent on imported LPG. There is ample supply of LPG in the country. This year, January 166870, February 116643, March 123875, April 134983, May 161006, June 170000. In the last 6 months, 873377 metric tons of LPG were imported. The price of LPG may decrease further. The government should further improve the LPG policy so that affordable LPG can be provided to the poor.
