Sindh High Court: Challenge Filed Against 27th Constitutional Amendment

Karachi (HRNW)- A petition has been filed in the Sindh High Court challenging the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Barrister Ali Tahir has claimed that the amendment was hurriedly passed and notified, and that the appointments of judges to the Federal Constitutional Court ignored seniority and proper judicial procedure.

The petitioner argues that the amendment undermines judicial independence, grants illegal perpetual immunity, and conflicts with the Constitution. He has requested the court to declare the amendment unconstitutional, suspend its implementation until the final verdict, and hear the case before a full regular bench.
