Trump Criticizes New York’s New Mayor Zahran Mamdani, Warns of Mass Exodus to Florida

Miami (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has made a controversial statement claiming that citizens will leave the city in large numbers and move to Florida after the newly elected Mayor of New York, Zahran Mamdani, takes office.

Speaking at a business forum in Miami, Trump said, “New York City lost its sovereignty on Election Day, now let’s see how Zahran Mamdani runs this city. We want New York to succeed, but it won’t be easy for him.”

Trump added that “Miami will soon become the new haven for New York City residents who want to escape what Mamdani calls ‘communist ideas.’”

President Trump warned Zahran Mamdani, saying, “He has to cooperate with Washington, otherwise he will bear the brunt. I am willing to talk to Mamdani, but he has to respect the federal government if he wants to succeed.”

Trump also discussed international affairs during his speech, saying, “The United States is number one in the world in nuclear power, Russia is second and China is third. But China could catch up with us in the next four to five years. It remains to be seen whether the disarmament plan between the three countries is successful or not.”

He added, “South Africa should be kicked out of the G20 group of countries, and I will not attend the G20 summit there later this month.” Trump also danced at the end of the ceremony, which drew laughter from the audience.

It should be remembered that Zahran Mamdani has become the first Muslim and youngest mayor of New York. He managed to win the election despite the opposition of US President Trump and businessman Elon Musk.
