Jacobabad (HRNW) — The intra-party elections of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Jacobabad District were held at Dastgir Mosque, under the chairmanship of District Senior Vice President Maulana Mehr Ali Sikandari, and under the supervision of Dr. Younus Danish, Central Spokesman and Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, along with Maulana Muhammad Aslam Langah.
By mutual consensus, the following office-bearers were elected:
District President: Maulana Muhammad Rafiq Fakhri
Senior Vice President: Maulana Mehr Ali Sikandari
General Secretary: Maulana Muhammad Bakhsh Qasmi
The newly elected officials took the oath of office from Dr. Younus Danish, Central Spokesman of JUP and Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee. The meeting was attended by a large number of district leaders, scholars, spiritual figures, and party workers.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Younus Danish said that the government must immediately abandon the oppressive attitude that gives the impression of sidelining those who raise the slogans of Ya Rasool Allah ﷺ. He demanded that mosques, madrasas, khanqahs, shrines, and spiritual centers be reopened immediately, and all forms of action against religious institutions be stopped.
He emphasized that Ahl-e-Sunnat have always believed in peaceful and constitutional struggle, and attempts to suppress or marginalize them are unacceptable. He added that Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan has always followed a democratic and non-violent path, which is why leadership from all religious schools of thought stands united under the guidance of Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, a symbol of unity and harmony among all sects.
Criticizing the current rulers, Dr. Danish said that their violent and oppressive policies to please the West are inviting divine wrath. He stated that the politics of dead bodies has never been the way of Ahl-e-Sunnat, who are peace-loving followers of the Prophet ﷺ, and warned the government not to push them against the wall.
The meeting was also addressed by Provincial Joint Secretary Hafiz Ghanoor Ali Qadri, District Senior Vice President Maulana Mehr Ali Sikandari, and Maulana Muhammad Aslam Langah. The speakers congratulated the newly elected leadership and stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s organizational structure and empowering the local leadership.
Participants reaffirmed their full support for the new district leadership and resolved to continue peaceful, democratic, and constitutional struggle for religious freedom, public rights, and national unity.
The session concluded with special prayers for the country’s peace, the well-being of scholars and spiritual leaders, the martyrs of Ahl-e-Sunnat, and the early recovery of Maulana Muhammad Rafiq Fakhri.
