Mecca & Medina (HRNW)- Security agencies have arrested drug dealers and seized narcotics in two separate operations in Mecca and Medina. A special team of the Road Security Force in Mecca has arrested two people from whom 7,905 narcotic pills have been seized. The Road Security Force says that ‘the arrested were Ethiopian immigrants, one of whom had an Iqama while the other was an infiltrator’.
The said individuals are currently undergoing investigation, while after completing the procedural process, they will be handed over to the relevant agency. The Narcotics Control Department has arrested three people in Medina from whose possession the narcotic substance crystal has been seized. Among the arrested are two Pakistani immigrants and a Saudi citizen.
One kilogram of crystal has been seized from the possession of the said individuals and these people were selling narcotics in the city. After completing the investigation, they have been handed over to the Public Prosecution.
It should be noted that transporting or dealing drugs in Saudi Arabia is considered a serious crime, and very severe penalties have been set for it. According to Saudi laws, the following penalties can be imposed if caught with drugs.
