Ranchi (HRNW)- In Ranchi, Jharkhand, a girl was allegedly attacked with petrol a few days before her wedding by unidentified persons. Police officials said that four unidentified persons attacked the girl with petrol. The incident took place at the victim’s house in Tendertola village under the limits of Kanke police station at around 1 pm.
Police officials said that four unidentified persons entered the house and poured petrol on the girl’s face. The victim’s family immediately took her to Kashyap Memorial Hospital.
Initial reports suggested that it was an acid attack, but a medical examination confirmed that petrol was used in the attack. Doctors said that the girl’s eyes were affected in the attack, the damage was limited to the outer layer.
According to police officials, there was no major damage in the petrol attack, but doctors are monitoring them and will arrest the accused soon.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the Ranchi police to investigate the matter and ensure the immediate arrest of the accused.
He wrote on social media platform X that he has directed the authorities to provide proper medical care to the victim and keep her informed about the progress.
Health Minister Irfan Ansari confirmed in a post on X that he had spoken to the district administration and the girl has been discharged and is in a stable condition.
Police officials said that the investigation is ongoing and all possible angles, including personal enmity, are being examined as the girl was to get married in a few days.
