Karachi (HRNW)— Power supply to K-Electric’s fourth phase Dhabeji pumping station has been suspended for more than 48 hours, severely affecting water supply across the city.
According to a K-Electric spokesperson, the power outage was caused by an underground cable fault, which is facing severe difficulties in repairing. The spokesperson said that K-Electric’s technical teams are continuously working to identify and repair the fault and efforts are underway to restore power despite the difficulties.
On the other hand, a Water Corporation spokesperson said that Water Corporation officials are in constant contact with the K-Electric administration and full cooperation is being provided in the repair work.
According to the spokesperson, K-Electric and Water Corporation are making joint efforts to restore power as soon as possible so that the water supply system can be restored. It may be recalled that on Wednesday, November 5, the power supply to the Fourth Phase Dhabeji Pumping Station was cut off due to a cable fault, as a result of which the city is currently facing a 140 million gallons water shortage due to the shutdown of three pumps.
