Mauritania (HRNW)- A boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Mauritania, killing 69 people and leaving 100 missing, media reported. The incident occurred yesterday. The official said the boat was carrying about 160 people, most of whom were Gambian and Senegalese, who had set sail from Gambia a week ago. They said the boat capsized when they saw the lights of a town about 80 kilometers north of Nouakchott.
