Islamabad (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has invited Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the Peace Board to be established for Gaza.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan has received a formal offer to join the peace board established for Gaza.
According to the spokesperson, Pakistan will continue to play an active role in global efforts for peace and stability in the region and will be in constant contact with the international community to establish lasting peace in Gaza.
The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that a lasting and just solution to the Palestinian issue should be in accordance with UN resolutions, while Pakistan will continue to support diplomatic efforts for lasting peace in the Middle East.
It should be noted that the names of the members of the Peace Board established for Gaza under President Trump’s peace plan have been announced by the White House. This board has been formed to coordinate security, humanitarian assistance and reconstruction efforts as well as promote reforms in the Palestinian Authority and government structures.
On the other hand, Israel has rejected the establishment of the Gaza Board, saying that this move is contrary to Israeli government policy. According to foreign media, a statement issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that Israel was not consulted on the formation of the board.
