US Investigation into Adani Group Sparks Global Scrutiny, Raises Questions on Indian Government Ties

New Delhi (HRNW)- The legal troubles of Indian industrialist Gautam Adani and his business group have again become the focus of international attention amid an ongoing investigation in the United States, which is putting diplomatic and political pressure on the Indian government.

International media reports indicate that the US investigation has revealed allegations of bribery and financial irregularities worth approximately $250 million against the Adani Group, raising concerns about India’s global reputation. Bloomberg reports that the Adani Group has been under scrutiny for over a year for alleged bribery, fraud, and securities law violations.

Sources say the Indian government has attempted to protect Adani and his close associates from US legal action, but the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has decided to continue the investigation. Earlier, Hindenburg Research also accused the Adani Group of financial manipulation, fraud, and mismanagement. Experts warn that if the allegations are proven, the group could face significant fines and possible prison sentences.

Indian journalist Vinod Chand reports that following a direct summons from the US Department of Justice, the Adani Group is pursuing settlement efforts, which in some cases can be considered an implicit admission of guilt. Analysts say this case has raised serious questions about the ties between the Indian government and major business conglomerates, affecting India’s economic credibility on the global stage.
