Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has confirmed the deployment of a large force of warships and aircraft to the Middle East in view of the escalating tensions with Iran.
Speaking on Air Force One, President Trump said that several warships, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, are being deployed near Iran. He said that Iran is being closely monitored and that Iran canceled some executions after its recent threat.
President Trump made it clear that this military movement is not necessarily a sign of war, but rather a move to strengthen US defense capabilities. According to US officials, the US is ready to respond forcefully if Iran restarts its nuclear program.
