One student told local media that he hid under a desk for nearly two hours, paralyzed by fear, until law enforcement cleared the premises.

Police described the suspect as a male wearing black clothing, who fled the scene on foot shortly after the attack. No weapon has yet been recovered, and a large-scale manhunt is currently underway.

All injured victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where medical officials stated that six victims remain in critical but stable condition.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, reacting to the incident, was quoted as saying:

“The victims are in extremely critical condition. At this moment, there is nothing we can do except pray.”

University officials have suspended all examinations and campus activities, while counseling and emergency support services have been made available to students and staff.

Investigations are ongoing.
