Gaza City (HRNW)- The United Nations has announced the end of the famine in Gaza but warned that the humanitarian situation remains critical. According to the UN, the famine declared in August has ended due to improved access to humanitarian aid, which has significantly reduced malnutrition.
However, the UN emphasized that the overall situation in Gaza remains fragile and uncertain. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification Initiative reported that while food security has improved, more than 70% of the population continues to live in temporary shelters. Winter floods and other challenges continue to pose risks of hunger.
The UN stressed that Gaza remains in an emergency situation and called for continued relief efforts and urgent attention to humanitarian needs.
