Berlin (HRNW) – A series of high-level meetings and consultations between Ukraine, European countries, Russia, and US officials has reportedly achieved a major breakthrough.
US President Donald Trump has presented proposals to end the Russia-Ukraine war, with Russian President Vladimir Putin partially agreeing, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is consulting with his colleagues on the matter.

Following these discussions, President Zelensky offered to give up Ukraineâs long-standing desire to join NATO in exchange for strong security guarantees, emphasizing that the primary goal is to protect the countryâs borders and citizens. He noted that some partners in the US and Europe had not supported Ukraineâs NATO membership.
The talks in Berlin mark the second round of high-level US-Ukrainian delegation discussions. It comes amid ongoing tensions since Russiaâs February 2022 invasion and annexation of five major Ukrainian regions to prevent the country from joining NATO. While former US President Joe Biden provided some support to Ukraine through sanctions on Russia, the current US administration under Trump is focusing more on ceasefire negotiations.
