Nadan (HRNW)- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has taken a strong stance against Elon Musk’s social media platform X and its chatbot Grok AI, warning that the British government will intervene and impose controls if the platform continues to allow immoral or harmful content related to women and children.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in his statement that companies or platforms that profit from harm and abuse lose the right to self-monitor. He said that the protection of users, especially minors, on digital platforms must be ensured at all costs.
The British regulatory body Ofcom has also launched an investigation into this matter to examine whether the social media platform X has fulfilled its responsibility to protect users and minors under the country’s laws.
The British government has made it clear that if the publication of illegal or immoral content does not stop, more stringent measures will be taken, including legal sanctions, fines and possibly blocking of platforms.
According to experts, in view of the rapidly growing capabilities of artificial intelligence, ethics and adherence to the law have become indispensable in the digital world, otherwise it could have serious and lasting effects on society.
